Blenders are an important staple in any health conscious kitchen!
While it is certainly possible to eat healthy without a blender, I feel I would be missing out on a lot of deliciousness if I did not have one! As a matter of fact, I feel like a blender is an absolute essential for Billy and I!
We start each morning off with a chocolate banana smoothie, and on the rare occasion that our high speed blender goes out, we absolutely need a back up!
That is exactly what happened a few months ago. When that inevitable yet highly inconvenient and upsetting event occurred, we made our way to a local store to see if we could find anything to make our smoothies with that would be affordable.
Pleasantly Surprised
We looked at all of the available blenders thoroughly. I really didn’t want to spend much more than $100 or so, and I knew that I had used a Ninja blender years ago with success. So, I did look at the Ninja options carefully. The Ninja Twist caught my eye for two reasons.
One reason was that it had a more powerful motor than the rest of the Ninja blenders there. To me, this is very important because I do not like chunks in my smoothies. Also, I often add hemp and pumpkin seeds to my smoothies, and a higher powered blender is really more well suited to blend seeds without leaving sharp bits.
The other reason I liked the look of this blender is because of the tamper. The Vitamix, which is what we are used to, has a tamper that you push down into the blender for additional mixing. This Ninja Twist has a built in tamper that can be spun around while the blender is on by way of a knob located on top of the blender.
Performance
This blender was out of the box and in full use shortly upon our arrival back at home! It did not disappoint. It makes smoothies that are a very satisfying consistency. I run it 3 times because of the seeds that I add. My daughter only runs it once as her smoothies are strictly fruit. She loves how thick the resulting smoothie is, and with no chunks!
It has held up for months with absolutely no issues, and we do highly recommend the Ninja Twist for a low to mid cost blender!
This blender is on the smaller side, but big enough for a mason jar sized smoothie! I simply make the two I normally drink separately when I use this blender, and that is no problem at all to me.
Also, please be aware that the bottom of the blender must be screwed off and the blender washed between uses as it does have some crevices.
Overall, we definitely give this little powerhouse of a blender a thumbs up, and we are glad that we found it when we needed it!
We hope that this review has been helpful to you!
